Your Memories

Tell us about the time…

We would love to hear your memories of Gayle so that her family can enjoy them, and so that we can incorporate them into her celebration on June 1st. Please drop us a line.

Our family moved from Lordsburg, but as the pictures show, we have some very happy memories of Gayle. My dad, Gordon, grew up with John, Rex and William and was later hired to work at the Short company.  My mom, Carol was friends with Gayle, Carol, Pat and the entire group. Mary and I attended ballet together for years and I remember Bill as a sweet little boy.
I was so sorry to hear of Gayles passing, she was such a fun woman to have in our lives. The stories my mom could tell you would crack you up, they were a pair of troublemakers!  I remember your mom dressing as a dirty bum and slowly walking up the dirt road to scare the crap out of my mother.  We were hiding, and turning off the lights...and Gayle was loving every minute of it.  It’s funny but I will never forget when I was nine or ten, I wanted to shave my legs so bad and your mother told me how I should wait because the hair would grow back thicker and darker....so....I did wait for a few more years.  When I would spend the night at the house I was always amazed by her vanity and all the makeup....she was a beauty and didn’t need any of it.
She was an exceptional person and she passed that down.

My family ( The Winebrenner) met the Kipps in 1948. I met Gayle when she started dating William. I was all of 13. I had never met anyone like Gayle. She made a big impression on me. She was Beautiful, Smart, and So Very Classy. I lost touch with Gayle and William over the years. When I lost My Mom in 2007 they were the first I called. Gayle was up at My Moms in no time to lend her loving heart. Of course she cooked for the dinner after. It’s hard to imagine a world without Gayle in it.
